AHh livejournal.. haven't seen you in a while. I didn't think people besides Kalyan actually posted on you anymore.

Hmm Let's try to make this not so much of a quiz blog this time eh?

It's funny when I look back at all the other posts I've put up in here. Either a quiz post or something APO related. Let's try to break that streak shall we?

In the past 2 weeks i've been to 2 bachelor parties... Such fun times and pretty different experiences. Going to these has honestly just help me realize how lucky I am to have these people as friends. It sounds super corny, but i love these memories. Thinking about how/when we first met, when we actually became friends, meeting new friends too. It's pretty amazing how long i've known some of these people and I still discover things i didn't know.

Great times and hopefully more great times ahead.

I apologize, this is double posted from my Xanga!

So here's my idea...I was recently looking at the big ol pile of crap that I had to pack up and move because inevitably every August 20th, 90% of Davis residents go through the same conundrum...Pack it or throw it away! So....with that said and hopefully with the intention of getting a small jump on your packing/organizing...here comes:

***The "I Don't Want to Take It With Me" Clothes Drive 2005***

Here's the deal: Bag up any clothes/blankets/sheets/towels that you don't wear that often but ARE STILL USEABLE. And on Thursday or Friday of next week (The 25th or 26th) we'll collect all the stuff (if you can drop it off that's awesome, if not I can prob get someone to help me get it from you) and then on one of the follwing Days, most likely the next Monday, the 29th.. We'll drop it off, hopefully a good carload of clothes for the homeless/needy. I know I have at least 2-3 bags of clothes that I just don't wear or can't remember why I bought which i'm going to donate.

Why throw it out? Someone else can use it!

So, this I happened upon this song totally by chance while perusing Jack Johnson's newest album. Man.. I want someone to write this song about me, or our relationship. It's just so simple and I can just see someone playing this on their guitar singing it to their partner of 10 years. I think it's the simplicity that gets to me, it's just a string of memories put to melody. Sigh, I hate when I get moody like this, I don't know if I'm feeling sad because I don't have someone who could play this for me or what. It doesn't feel sad, maybe hopeful that when I find someone he and I will get to have memories like this? I like to think it's mostly hopeful, but I know there's a little sad in there. That's funny to me, being sad about something so abstract and romanticized. Heh, I feel like such a n00b, so untried, 'innocent' (heh, never thought me and innocent would be put together in a sent) even when it comes to this stuff. I blush like a school maid whenever i'm around someone I like, worse if i'm called on it. It's like i'm back in elementary school. AEST) Anti-rape device created An inventor in South Africa has come up with a possible solution to end the country's unenviable reputation of being the rape capital of the world. It is estimated a woman or girl is raped every 26 seconds in South Africa. But inventor Sonette Ehlers says women will soon be able to wear a device which would attach itself to the rapist's penis by microscopic hooks as he withdraws. Ms Ehlers says the device is expected to go on sale by the end of the year. "The rape device is a condom, it's shaped almost like a tampon," she said. "Hollow inside and the inner wall of it is lined, and there we have got all our technology and little hooks which, upon forced penetration, will attach to the skin of the perpetrator and only a medical doctor can remove it. "He'll have to turn himself in, so he's marked for immediate identification." - BBC

Here's my reaction to this idea...If you don't want to read about fish-hooks or see me going off about a subjectively random topic... move on:

Wow, i think that invention is prob one of the more idiotic things i've ever heard about. Basically in order for it be effective women would haveto begin wearing signs saying 'AM USING FISH-HOOK IN YOUR PENIS ANTI-RAPE CONDOM.. IF YOU RAPE ME YOU WILL HAVE FISH-HOOKS CLAMPED TO YOUR PENIS' because the wide majority of rapists are probably not going to keep up to date with anti-rape technology and having some sort of sign letting people know you're using it is the only way it'd be preventative at all.

Basically all that condom does is give the rape victim a sense of vengeance AFTER the fact of his/her rape. Basically, the person that invented that is saying that stopping continued penetration is the same as stopping the rape itself...nevermind the psychological effects of being assaulted and having sex (however aborted) forced on you.. LET ALONE the psychological effects of seeing someone with fish-hooks in their penis screaming in pain as they pull out of your vagina... talk about creating a stigma around the vagina... no more quickies from the husband/boyfriend/girlfriend's strap-on...it's now a war-zone complete with anti-personel weaponry... you'd have to make appointments in order to have access or fear the fish hooks... Can you imagine the couple who forgets the condom is inserted? That'll be a fun trip to the hospital...everyone in the ER thinking that you're being coersed into giving this statement that he didn't actually force himself on you...

No I didn't just get my period as the subject line woudl suggest...
Man, I haven't posted on this in a while.. and oddly enough I think about 2/3 of my previous posts have either been quizzes (which don't count) or posts that begin with just that statement.

Let's see.. What's been happening..

Thanks to Steph's prodding I went to my first gay club, Faces (http://www.faces.net/default.asp). I know I know... first gay club.. i'm a late bloomer.. suck it! I have to admit it was so much fun. The night started out with me being tired and grouchy from a long day on campus, Steph came up to me and said 'you're going to Faces with us tonight!' to which I just started moaning. I wasn't feeling cute, wasn't feeling up to a club at all. I ended up going home and passing out only to wake up @ around 8pm and decide, ya know what, stop being a big pussy and just go. So I got up, got dressed, did my best to look cute =/ and started to pre-party a bit at my place. (I had decide to go yes, but go sober... nah) I needed a little liquid courage which came in the form of 7 and 7s and a shot or two of Malibu Mango.

A nice group came with us too, which i was pleasantly surprised by. Steph, Mexi-Steph, Tony, Almira, Mo, Alice W, Ambi, Kitty, Genie, Will, and Random Steph friends, and ME! When we arrived at the club we found out that Genie couldn't find her ID and they wouldn't let her in without one. Too bad to because she'd gotten all dressed up but had to go home anyways.

The rest of us went into the club, got our bearings, and then decided that we needed more drinks. Mo, because she is crazy, bought the first round. I had an LC which is basically cinnamon burning in a glass, but it does its job, so who am i to complain. The club has different music rooms, one trance/house and the other more hip hop. We started out dancing in the house room, it reminded me of raving a bit because of all the flashing lights and pounding base. Most of our group wasn't feeling it though because they are more into hip hop, so we ended up migrating there instead. That's where the freaky started too.

Turns out it was stripper night (professional mind you) and we walked right into it as the stage was in the hip hop room. We caught the tail end of one guy and then caught Antonio's (i think that was his name) show. He did his thing, apparently he was some sort of military man because he was in army pants and a helmet, but really once he was down to his thong, as with most strippers, their 'role' goes out the window. We started throwing dollars at him for lap dances. Well I was pulling out money to get one of the girls a dance and Steph beat me to it, so I got the first lap dance for our group. That guy was hella muscular and the dance was fun except for when he decided to pinch my nipples. Not lightly mind you, but OUCH pinching, so I pinched him right back. Ambi got pictures of me feeling up on his too, i'll see if i can get those later haha. Alice W and Steph got dances too. Alice was freaked out by hers, but that's mostly cuz the guy put her on her back and pumped her like 10 gallons of gasoline. Steph's wasn't that bad, he just kinda bent her over and bit a dollar bill out of her shirt. haha

The rest of the night was great, just dancing and us hanging out. We went back to Davis once the club closed. No numbers or random hook-ups for me though, haha, honestly i wouldn't have known what to do with it anyways. Everyone was still a little bit tipsy and we almost got Kitty to sing Mandarin in the car but she wasn't gone enough.

All in all it was a great night. Fun dancing..even though not everyone dug the music I had fun just seeing and being around so many LGBTIAAQQ (whatever acronym you want to use). Haha made me realize how much I had been cutting off spending so much time in AphiO. Not that I don't love AphiO and my chapter, but there just don't seem to be many if any other gay people/possibilities so i've just kinda let it go. But i've begun to realize that I don't want to let it go. I enjoy that part of msyelf, being open about it, dancing because of it. I've tried to not hide it, but if i'm honest, i'm sure I have sometimes but like drunken Gina said to me the last time we went to faces.. Fuck em, it's not any of their f*ing business and if they're your friends, it won't matter anyways.

SO yeah, so much fun has been had.. hopefully we'll keep going there or somewhere else, we'll all meet new people and get guys and girls for everyone.. since it seems to be mating season up in Davis =P
I'm gonna cut this post a lil 'short' haha, I'll try to post up the rest of the week and the week long party that was my 25th birthday extravaganza hahaha
